the KO-YO: custom pottery for your notions
You may already know that Katy Lin is super-fancy and prefers custom & exclusive. We worked with Janna from Curious Clay to incorporate some of our favorite colors into these YO-YO dishes, which I’m now calling KO-YO’s! Two hand-formed domes are attached at their bases to form a platform dish: a KO-(Yo)-YO Dish!
These gorgeous ceramic pieces are handmade from start to finish. Each is original & unique. I find potter’s work to be so inspiring & am in complete awe of their ability to turn mud into art. You’ll love the style of these lipped, circular dishes as not only decor in your home but for notions, jewelry, cone incense or palo santo. Each dish measures approximately 2”/5 cm in diameter.

about the maker
curious clay is a woman owned business with 3 full-time makers. creator & owner, Janna, is the primary glaze/luster artist. these incredible, one of a kind products are handmade in windsor, connecticut. it was such a treat to work with her! be sure to check out the custom yo yo dishes she made, just for us.
Curious Clay was born out of an intense love of the handmade form and the desire to make attainable art objects. As a former painter, the presence of the artist's hand in my works is very important to me. Both the clay form and the glaze application retains the gesture from my hand. Being somewhat self-taught, my work is primarily slab-built with some element of hand forming. I hope my works can live in their new homes, and be apart of the slower moments in the day; whether it's your morning cup of coffee or afternoon meditation. I find great joy in creating one of a kind pottery, and my hope is that that joy comes through.
