Wild Grass Cardigan

$10.00

Dolmans are having their day. This open cardigan features easy all-over cabling with a textured center back detail amidst swingy sleeves & body. Options are included for a cropped or longer length. You'll love the top down construction that begins with the sleeves and finishes with the body worked - no sleeves to work at the end! Cable is both written and charted.

Sweater is shown in Size 3 with approx 6"/15 cm positive ease. 6-9"/15-23 cm of positive ease is suggested. "To fit" sizing is provided; choose the size that is closest to your actual chest circumference in this section, sizing up if between sizes. If you prefer a different level of ease, add your desired ease to your full chest circumference and choose the closest size after adding ease in the actual finished chest section, which reports the dimensions of the garment itself.

Sweater is constructed from the top down with Dolman-style sleeves. Each side of the Back with corresponding sleeve is worked first, then joined during a CO row for Back Neck. Stitches for each Front & Sleeve are picked up and knit from Shoulder and worked down from CO over Back and Sleeves, then joined with the Back beneath the armholes. After the arms are seamed, cardigan body is worked back and forth to either a cropped or full length.

Pattern is written for intermediate level knitters who are comfortable with the foll techniques: reading their work, picking up stitches, Three Needle BO, cabling and tracking multiple stitch patterns simultaneously. Instructions for Tubular BO are included.
