Pebbles

$10.00

This pattern is part of the 4-piece collection from my first ever retreat: Stitch & Beach! Each design easily stands alone with a huge variety of included options, but they are even better when purchased together. Check out the entire collection here.

This vibrant, form-fitting raglan pullover is full of character. It is seamlessly knit from the top dow with easy 1×1 textured colorwork highlighted by dynamic twisted raglan columns that flow effortlessly from yoke to hem. Work the twists in a third color as shown for an extra pop—the perfect opportunity to try intarsia—or keep it simple with just 2 colors. This versatile knit includes a keyhole back neck opening, optional waist shaping with sleeve & body length variations. Detailed guidance on incorporating new stitches into pattern ensures a smooth knitting experience, while the twisted side columns and shaping create a universally flattering silhouette to beautifully compliment every body.

SIZING

Sweater is shown in Size 4 with approximately .5"/1.5 cm positive ease. This pattern features an expansive 16 sizes with less than 3"/7.5 cm from one to the next so that you can acheive the fit you want with minimal modification. This sweater is shown & designed to be fitted. Choose the size that is larger than but closest to your actual Full Chest measurement. Because of the colorwork, negative ease is not recommended, nor is choosing your size based on Upper Chest. If you are between sizes or you are concerned that the closest size will be too tight, refer to the Upper Arm Circumference on the schematic and choose whichever size corresponds better with your body overall.

EXPERIENCE

Knitters should be comfortable with stranded colorwork including minimal work on the wrong side, basic increasing and decreasing, following two stitch patterns simultaneously, cabling, cable & provisional cast-on and for working 3-colors as shown, working intarsia. To make this pattern more accessible, information is also provided to work garment in 2 colors to skip the intarsia. In addition, visual and written guidance is provided for incorporating new stitches into the established stitch pattern. Knitters comfortable reading their work will easily be able to adjust new stitches into pattern.

TOOLS

Sizes 5 (3.75 mm) & 3 (3.25 mm) circular needles in the following lengths: comfortable length for working Finished Chest, 16" (40 cm) circular needles, set of DPNs (or preferred tools for small circumference knitting), spare needles same size or smaller than larger needles. Minimum of 12 stitch markers including distinct marker for end-of-round (any style), and four additional distinct markers, cable needle, tapestry needle, crochet hook & waste yarn for provisional cast-on

GAUGE

28 sts and 28 rows per 4"/10 cm in Textured Colorwork on larger needles Each 4-st Twist column (sport weight) measures approx 3⁄8"/1 cm

YARN

Yarns in two bases in either 2 or 3 colors A: Laceweight, light, blooming fiber, B & C: Sport weight yarn in sturdy fiber

Note: To work this design in 2 colors, add the yardage for C to your sportweight yarn (B). Using the lighter, laceweight yarn (A) for C is not recommended, as it doesn’t have the same level of stability, will likely not show the cabled twist and result in a slightly smaller overall circumference.
