Preceded by a version for wee ones, this cozy heirloom sweater was upsized and tweaked to suit children from kindergarten into their early teens. It features a variety of aran cable patterns on both body & sleeves with a stand-up collar. It’s finished with a zipper through the body and a button closure at the neck. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the bottom up. The pattern is designed to challenge the experienced knitter who is comfortable working from multiple charts simultaneously, as well as performing decreases while staying in pattern. Instructions for zipper installation are included. Shown in Size 8.

  • Finished Length: 16.5 (18.5, 20, 21, 22)”
  • Size: 6 (8, 10, 12, 14) years
  • Gauge: 20 sts and 32 rows per 4” in stockinette on larger needles; 24-st Chart D Panel measures just under 3.5” on larger needles
  • Yarn: 950 (1115, 1265, 1415, 1540) yards worsted weight yarn
  • Tools: Size 5 (3.75 mm) and size 6 (4 mm) circular needles and set of 5 DPNs in each size, stitch markers, cable needle, latch hook (knit-picker), spare circular needles within two sizes of working needles
  • Notions: Two 1” buttons, 14.75 (16.75, 18.25, 19.25, 20.25)” separating zipper for shorter option or 16.75 (18.75, 20.25, 21.25, 22.25)” separating zipper for full-length zipper
